If you've always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. Once qualified you will be able to qualified dive around the world to 18m.
To enroll in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be 10 years or older and be in reasonable health but you certainly don't need to be an Olympic athlete.
The fun part about this course is . . . well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. You breathe underwater for the first time (something you'll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course you'll do the pool dive(s) and four dives at a local dive site under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use full scuba gear including a dive computer and standard accessories. If diving in winter then you also have the option to use a dry suit to keep you warm and cosy.
From years of teaching 1000's of people to dive we find that PADI's new 'eLearning' is the easiest and most convenient option to learn the theory. PADI's Open Water e-learning lessons cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. For each concept you'll read a description, watch a video demonstration and take a short quiz. Then you'll jump in one of our heated swimming pools to practice these skills with your instructor. Later, as a certified diver, use the e-learning pass as a reference guide for future diving adventures and to review what you learned. All equipment is provided so all you need is your swimwear and a towel.
We have several swimming pool times and locations to choose from so there is something convenient for you:
South West London - Sunday afternoon at the Roehampton Club
Surrey & Berkshire - Saturday afternoon in Old Windsor
Soho, Central London – Tuesday evenings
Brighton & Hove - Sunday evenings
Oxford - Sunday lunchtime
To make it even easier and more convenient there are several course options available as well:

The Full Open Water Course will teach you each of the three steps to gain your certification; THEORY, POOL SKILLS and OPEN WATER DIVES. The first part of the course consists of theory which you complete online at a time and place that is convenient for you, then it's off to do your pool skills to make you feel safe and comfortable in the water before heading off to complete four open water dives! We will take you to a lake in the picturesque village of Wraysbury close to Thorpe Park, M25, M3 and M4 motorways, where you will complete your four open water dives which are completed on a Saturday and Sunday morning. The lake has plenty of sunken attractions such as boats, camper vans, buses and even a London cab. With several training platforms available it's a great place to practice your diving skills. We always say "if you can dive in the UK then you can dive anywhere", but if you don't fancy the idea of diving in the UK then no worries, the Referral course is the one for you! |
